Founded in 1906, Bakery Siebert, owned by Lars Siebert, is the oldest bakery in Berlin.
It’s no surprise then that Lars takes tradition and the quality of his produce very seriously.
Lars Siebert starts work at 1am to ensure the pfannkuchen, a type of filled doughnut, is made just how it’s always been made - since 1750.
Everything is made and fresh and by hand, all under the watchful eye of Lars. It’s this attention to detail and Lars’ refusal to add anything artificial that creates a queue of Berliners eagerly awaiting the 6am shop opening every morning.
