Klaus-Wilhelm Gérard is not only a ‘Trüffelsucher’, but an author, journalist, historian and teacher. Such is his expertise in finding this elusive “diamond of the forest” that he is the only German granted the right to hunt for truffles in La Marche in Italy.
He uses two dogs to hunt for truffles (as opposed to pigs) and Leo and Attila are the last in a family of dogs pure-bred from the 16th Century specifically for truffle hunting.
